Darning a hole in Spandex
Instructions
1
Place the article on a ball or another form of farm to keep the tense play.
2
Cut a length of yarn long enough to fold and have a little more when you are finished.
3
Make a knot at both ends of the wire. Push the needle into the bottom right of the hole, as it faces you. Make sure to run the needle through a section of the spandex, where the node from slipping through the hole that you damn.
4
Pull the thread all along. Push the needle up, running through the other side of the hole that your previous point comes to pass through. Do not pull the thread tight at this stage.
5
Continue through the edges of the hole in the same way, by repeating your threading model. The objective is to create a zigzag through the hole pattern in the spandex, which will seal after you stretch the wires.
6
Start to stitch a little closer together as you reach the top of the hole. The tip of your needle is used to draw, from bottom to top, each point tight as they progress to the top of the opening. This ensures the same voltage all the way through the hole.
7
Stretch the wire above the hole. Push the needle down and through, committing a small section of spandex. Leave a loop of 2 mm.
8
Run your needle through the loop you just made. Tighten the wire, the closing node.
9
Needle through the top of the now closed hole, pushing little about halfway in the repair.
10
Pull the thread all along. Cut off the excess with your scissors.
