Appearance
So that a simple job, all-over dye sometimes leads to monochromatic hair, lowlights give your hair a multi tonal and subtly textured appearance. As its name suggests, lowlights highlight "inferior" or darker shades, shades of lighter hair colors. For example, if you are wearing a light blonde do, lowlights add subtle tones mixed honey clear or golden brown. This gives your hair of light and dark accents.

Technical

The process for lowlights is very similar to that of the highlights. In general, it beings with the wide-cut hair hairdresser. In each section, the designer more separates the hair using leaves or paper highlighting and then applies the color generally with a brush. The colourist often chooses which parts of the hair to separate plaiting hair. Armor very well done for subtle lowlights while a thick weave creates a bolder look. Otherwise, your stylist can use a painting technique of freeform called scanning to apply your lowlights.

Comparison

Highlights light hair with shades lighter than your natural colour while lowlights darken the natural shade, or base, of your hair. In other words, highlights essentially remove color while the colorization of the lowlights. This leads to a warmer, more moderate aspect that makes most popular lowlights in cool seasons. Unlike the highlights and colouring the hair, lowlights tend to offer a more natural look. Versus full colour of hair, lowlights do less damage to your locks.

Tips

Because lowlights create the illusion of fullness, they come to practice if you find a dye job too flat or monochromatic. Similarly, lowlights work well with layered haircuts, because they highlight the texture of your hair and add a sense of movement. As a general rule, ask the shadows that are tinted darker than lighter hair on the head, to a minimum and never darker than your hair's base color. Do not forget that lowlights work best on longer hair. On short hair, they can result in a texture messy looking.
