Having the right tools in hand is an important part of a successful alteration. A pair of sharp scissors allows you to directly perform same cut of the dress, which creates a professional look. Use a panel of fabric that is cut from the same material as the dress to hide completely the alteration. If the equipment is not available, choose the one that coordinates its activities with the dress. Straight and tight seams are easier to achieve with a sewing machine, but one needle and thread work as well. Choose a thread color that blends with the fabric to cover the seam and to less obvious enlargement.

Preparation

Before impairment, preparation of your sewing space with all the tools and concepts you need makes the process faster and easier. If the dress you're expansion is new, wash and dry before sewing.
