Buy non-remy extensions which are close to the color of your hair. If you want to color, do so before the extensions are applied to your hair. It is better to have non-remy extensions coloured by a professional hair colouring home kits can have chemicals that are too hard for extensions.

Wait two days before shampooing your hair after the non-remy extensions have been applied. This will give the liaison officers, a chance to adjust.

Apply a mild shampoo without sulfate to your hair. Sulphate will break the bonding agent and cause the extensions to fall. Always detangle your hair before shampooing.

Shampoo your hair every two or three days. Excessive washing can accelerate the release of the bonder.

Apply a moisturizing conditioner to the hair ends. Keep the conditioner away from the roots of the extensions. Non-remy hair extensions are natural hair, the ends can dry and will need Moisture conditioner to keep the ends from breakage.

Dry your hair after washing. Sleep with wet hair may tangle and damage the extensions.

Brush your hair with a Looper-style hairbrush. These brushes have loops instead of straight bristles and is easier on the extensions. Loopers aim to brush all the way to the scalp without pulling the extensions. These brushes are purchased at beauty supply retailers. Brush your hair gently three or four times a day. Keep your hair brushed will reduce the amount of tangles that can accumulate during the day.

Tie your hair back at night with a satin ribbon or a soft headband. Secure your hair will keep hair fall, pulled and tangled while you sleep. Using a silk or satin pillowcase also helps break down and snagging hair.
